robinson's magnolia

we've been frequenting robinson's magnolia ever since we discovered it a few weeks ago. the place came highly recommended by a couple of my officemates, who said it wasn't very crowded and there was a nice al fresco area.

not crowded plus an al fresco area? we're so there! we love such kinds of places especially because it means sloan can run around and explore his surroundings. it's good exercise and it's a nice, free way to keep him entertained too hehe :)

on both counts, wagi ang robinson's magnolia. as usual, takbo galore si sloan at habol to death naman si mike.

there are still a few stores that haven't opened yet, but many of my usual stops (for both window and actual shopping hehe) have branches there. i just really hope that robinson's won't add too many stalls like in their other malls para hindi masikip and mas maaliwalas.

another big attraction of the place was the magnolia flavor house. brings back childhood memories!

i think it was really nice of robinson's to pay homage to the magnolia ice cream house that once stood on their site by naming the mall after it and also making space for a new, albeit smaller, version of the ice cream place which people from my generation enjoyed during our youth :)

the queue can get pretty crazy. when we tried to get a table so we can have an afternoon snack, we were number 17. it was quite a wait that mike and i took turns in waiting for our number to be called para hindi nakakainip. while i was waiting, there was a group of yuppies who inquired about how long they had to wait. when they were told of their queue number, they gave up and said "bili na lang tayo ng magnolia sa supermarket!"

but it's really not about that for many of us, huh? i think it's more the memories it brings back para sa mga ka-batch ko :) and judging by how jampacked it can get, i guess marami ngang nasesenti sa kanya.

when our number was finally called, we ordered mac and cheese and mango jubilee for the three of us to share.

save for the wet utensil which for me is a big turn off, the mac and cheese was really good! it had the right amount of cheesy-salty taste i was craving for, plus bacon bits. just writing this makes me wanna head there now and get me some cheesy goodness!

the mango jubilee was yummy too. of course, it's your usual magnolia mango ice cream, but it came with this yummy cake at the bottom plus mango slices too. yummy! (just realized, way too many yummy in one paragraph hehe)

i'm really glad we have an option to trinoma, the mall nearest our place which, while conveniently located, can sometimes test your patience in terms of the traffic situation (both the roads leading to it and the amount of people inside it). so we're definitely coming back to robinson's magnolia :)
