hello annej! (and hello sad service at relish hello happiness)

annej and i did some catching up last friday and since we haven't seen each other in a long time, the stories were overflowing at ang tawanan ay wagas!




trivia: the last time we were scheduled to meet up was over a year ago, on a saturday, at technohub. she was very much pregnant then. as mike, sloan, and i were preaparing to go to technohub, we received a text from alvin saying that they won't be able to meet up with us as they had to go to the hospital - annej was going to give birth already!

so we met up at relish hello happiness at sct. limbaga. i was excited to check out the food as i've read a nice review about it.

the place was lovely and the interiors were cozy. plus there was parking and valet.

i was famished by the time we got there, and thankfully, our orders arrived quite fast. we had pita and hummus for starters, and it was really good. i had the chimchurri chicken while annej had the porkchops, and both dishes got two thumbs up from us both. satisfied with the food, annej ordered food to go for vin, while i asked to have my unfinished meal wrapped. then we chatted and laughed some more, and had mango torte for dessert (plus more pita and hummus for annej hehehe).

the servers placed our takeaways in one bag, and so, when it was time to leave, kailangan na naming ihiwalay yung food namin. that's when we saw that they didn't wrap all of the food i hadn't finished. yung chicken lang ang andun at hindi isinama ang rice.

i'm not sure if it was their policy since the rice might spoil, but they should've at least informed us if that was the case. when annej called the waiter's attention to it, ni hindi man lang apologetic. he nonchalantly replied, "ay, wala na po yun (yung rice)." e malamang diba?!

we wouldn't have been so bothered if he at least said sorry or offered a valid explanation. pero waley! we asked to speak with the manager to express our disappointment with their service, and the lady gave a half-hearted apology. dagdag mo pa ang staff na kumakanta ng videoke levels habang pinagbubukas kami ng pinto as we were leaving.

hay sayang. it was too bad, because we were very impressed with the place and the food. but the service, sadly, nothing to relish nor be happy about.
