one week, two awards
last week was quite exciting for me on the work end because i received two very special awards: a philippine quill award and a kapamilya award.
the philippine quill awards is the award-giving body of the international association of business communicators which "recognizes excellent use of communication in the projects and campaigns of the country’s leading corporations and communication agencies" - lifted from our press release hehe :)
the internal communications group won for kapamilya hottie 2012, an online contest we ran on e-Frequency, abs-cbn's intranet site. it's one of our major promos and it was hard work managing it, so it was great to have the effort validated.
the event was held at the crowne plaza. here i am receiving the award together with my boss (and former professor!), corporate communications head bong osorio, and senior pr writer jan kristoffer enriquez, who also toiled with me on the project hehehe.
this is actually my second quill award. last year we also won for the relaunch of e-frequency. i wasn't able to join them in accepting the award though as i was the host together with atom araullo.
the event got good coverage and the press release we sent out got a good number of pick-ups and so feeling rockstar ako hahaha :D

the night after the quill awards, i was back at the crowne plaza for the kapamilya awards, which is the "loyalty awards" of abs-cbn for its employees. i was there as a 10-year awardee. i'll write a separate entry on being an awardee because it deserves one :)
i was quite lucky because they included my years in radio as a dj in counting my years of service in the company, and because they decided to hold a grand awards night this year, instead of the usual programme in abs-cbn's studio 10. that's because some pretty special people were going to be recognized: atty. jake lopez, a member of the board of advisors and a 50-year awardee; and the 25-year awardees - including abs-cbn chairman and ceo gabby lopez himself - the batch that rebuilt the company after the martial law.
the dress code said semi-formal and this was what i wore. i love the skull prints on this one, plus it's semi-backless so there's a hint of schmexy hehehe :) our batch's color code was red, so i wore a giant red cocktail ring hehe.
kumusta naman yung nasa gilid na gilid ako ng photo wall? kita mo na yung tape ng carpet! haha :) there were so many employees having their photos taken it was hard to get a solo pic, pero keri lang.

...and onstage, shaking hands with our president and coo, charo santos-concio :)
oha! ang saya-saya ko diba! nagbaon pa ko ng siopao sa pinsgi ko!

it was a special night and i got quite sentimental listening to the tearjerking speeches and reminiscing all the fun (and sometimes stressful) experiences i've had as a kapamilya . i've collected so many memories, received monumental blessings, and learned valuable lessons in my 10 years in abs-cbn. i am very thankful to have been given the chance to be a part of this company :)

can i just say i love my shoes? i bought it on sale at payless :D the heels are quite high, but it's super comfortable and i can last a long time in them.
here we are again with my immediate superior, pr and corporate affairs head kane errol choa, and pr writer rae ducut.
