mighty proud

only five months after getting into brazilian jiujitsu, mike (on top in photo) competed for the first time ever last sunday - because he wanted to gauge his skills, experience what it's like to compete, and cross it off his bucket list.

he didn't win, but boy, i give him major props for the courage to put himself out there. and at 40 years old! i am super proud :)

the competition was called rollapalooza 2013 and it was held at the blue eagle gym in ateneo. sloan and i went with mike to provide moral support, but i ended up bringing sloan and his yaya home even before the matches began because the little boy had to nap. paano ba namang hindi mapapagod, e best in takbo. at may nalalaman pang pagde-demo ng version niya ng jiujitsu :)

i went back after to witness mike in action, as well as take photos of him and his buddies from fist gym, including his good friend and sloan's ninang, carol, who won gold in her division in two different categories.

in the photo above with mike are carol, their coach jerry, and their norwegian teammate jon.

i am mighty proud. i love you babe!
