saturdays and sunshine go well together

it's the weekend! and thankfully, it's a sunshine-y one, a good break from the heavy rains that metro manila experienced the past few days. the weather was perfect today - the sun was out but it wasn't scorching hot because of the breeze. as a toast to the weather, sloan and mike hung out by the terrace and had popsicles.

such a mess! ligo ang kasunod nito :)

back to the subject of rains. the habagat experience followed by appeals for filipinos to take better care of the environment brought to mind a project we did for one of my MA subjects years ago. we were supposed to prepare a pr plan for a project of our choice. i proposed to my groupmates the idea of promoting a bring-your-own-bag campaign, inspired by the campaign in shanghai, china, where my girlfriends and i had just gone on holiday.

i was super proud of the pr plan we came up with and of the title i coined, "choose to reuse." but looking back now, and after getting to know more of what pr is supposed to be, it has occurred to me that some of my ideas were pretty raw, naive, and cheesy. there was definitely potential in them naman... (makabuhat lang ng bangko! hehehe) well the fact that healthy options' current byob campaign is called "choose to reuse" proves na talagang may future ang ideas ko! never say die!!! haha :)

anyways, i stumbled upon some of the collaterals in my hard drive and thought i'd post a couple in here:

on a more serious note, it really is time for everyone to take this byob thing seriously, as well other campaigns on taking better care of the environment. according to the news, intense rains will be our new normal. if we're better prepared and educated, then hopefully the deadly floods won't be.
