lumiliwanag ang mundo sa kwento ng pasko

pasko na!

now that abs-cbn has launched its christmas station id, i'm starting to feel excited for the holidays. this is because we now have a theme song that we can sing along to and a station id that's played every after each program that will remind us how christmas is just around the corner. having something to look forward to can always help put one in a good mood :)

same as last year, i was a part of the team that handled the internal launch of the station id. the event started with a mass. employees and executives all wore red for the event.

syempre hindi kami nagpahuli ni sir bong sa red theme :)

after the mass, a short programme followed, hosted by the charming bernadette sembrano-aguinaldo. our bosses, abs-cbn chairman and ceo eugenio "gabby" lopez III, and abs-cbn president and coo charo santos-concio, gave christmas messages. then, together, they pressed the plunger which lit up the parols in and out of the chapel. at the same time, we also lit our handheld parols similar to the ones the stars held in the sid; and the lights in the whole abs-cbn compound were also lit.

when the sid was finally played, i was by myself because my officemate ryan was going around taking photos, while the others arrived later since they came from different presscons.

as such, i had no one to share my thoughts about the video with. this year's theme was "lumiliwanag ang mundo sa kwento ng pasko" and it paid tribute to the ordinary filipino heroes. EH NAKAKAIYAK! syempre hirap na hirap akong pigilin yung luha ko, kasi nakakatawa naman kung sakaling humagulgol akong mag-isa hahaha :)

later, i managed to catch up with sir bong and jan.

the song was written by the head of creative communications management, robert labayen. he's a very talented and funny guy whom i've had the pleasure of working with in a few occasions. i hope someday i can also write a nice song like that guy :)

props also to the ccm team behind the sid, one of which is my good friend kathrina. working with hundreds of stars with such busy schedules, in different locations, and dealing with weather and budget considerations is no small feat. not to mention coming up with a material that's as touching and creative as this one. bravo!!!

all photos by ryan ramos. now let's all sing along to the abs-cbn christmas station id for 2012 :)
