sloan turns two - actual birthday
i had a long draft detailing how we prepared for and spent sloan's birthday, but it was going in different directions because i wanted to share the highlights of the actual day as well as all the crafty stuff i did. i decided i'll talk about the latter later on when we're done with the simple salo-salo with mike's family next week so it's more complete.
so on to sloan's actual birthday, october 18 :) i was up very early that morning and i immediately got to work, checking if the balloons which mike and i decorated the house with the night before were still in place and taking out the red ribbon cake from the fridge to jazz it up a little.
when the birthday boy woke up - which was very early at 6am - he was so excited to see the balloons and kept doing what mike and i call his "hop of joy" :) kakaaliw hehehe! we sang "happy birthday" then proceeded with the candle-blowing ceremony. and since it was a special day, we had cake for for breakfast.
sobrang aga, kaya pasensya na sa mga mata nila - alam na alam mong bagong gising hehe :)
we also gave sloan a couple of gifts - a car and a plane. ang sarap sabihin na totoong kotse at eroplano yon, pero syempre hindi diba :) he loved the simple gifts we got him and played with them immediately.
we also bonded over bubbles in the terrace.
after his usual morning nap, we headed to the mall for his haircut. super haba na ng buhok ng bagets. mike wanted to keep it that way for a while just because sloan looks more like his baby self when he has long hair, but he's such an active boy who runs around so much and thus, sweats a lot, so short hair is just more hygienic and manageable hehehe :)
we also took him for a carousel ride before finally going home.
he spent the rest of the day playing with his new toys and dealing with his mom and dad who kept hugging and kissing him because they cannot believe how fast their baby boy is growing up!
it was a fun day :)
