quoting chbosky

mike and i went on a rare movie date to catch "the perks of being a wallflower." i've been planning to buy the book, but since the movie was already out, i thought i'd catch it on the big screen instead and maybe just read the book later if i feel like it.

a lot of people have been raving about the movie on facebook and twitter, and i was a little worried that their praises would pre-empt my feelings for the movie and i'd end up disappointed.

but i didn't. i actually liked it a lot. i have to say though that some parts and lines hit quite close to home that it  put me in an introspective mode, with memories of a traumatic incident from the past coming back to me.

"but even if we don't have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there. we can still do things" - so goes a line in the movie. and i truly believe in with all my heart because i like to believe that i've been able to do just that.

i'm very thankful to be where i am now - surrounded by not a lot of people, but a few whom i know truly know me and love me.

and i love them right back. to quote chbosky again, it's with them that i feel infinite :)

  2. mukha nga, daming magandang reviews! i was a bit wary kasi ang impression ko is mala-catcher in the rye, which i haven't finished. pero bilang nagustuhan ko yung movie, bet ko nang bumili ng book :)
