shanghai memories

amazing race season 21 is on! oh how i absolutely love this show :) suspense, drama, comedy and adventure all in one show, and it's never the same every season. plus, it fuels my love for traveling all the more. each episode makes me feel like i've been somewhere else even without leaving my seat.

another fun thing about the amazing race is getting to say "i've been there!" in some episodes. like in the first episode of season 21, where the pit stop was in shanghai, china. i was able to travel there in 2008 with my girl friends and it was fun :) the show got me reminiscing about that trip and so i dug up some photos in my multiply account plus a youtube video.

for those planning a trip to shanghai, be ready for the language barrier. it can be hard to order things or ask for directions since not everyone speaks english. we experienced this while trying to order food in a restaurant. if this happens to you, hopefully, like us, you'll chance upon kind strangers who will graciously help you out :)
